Our aim is for children to be taught to use and apply their mathematics in a practical tasks and real-life situations and to further develop their knowledge and understanding. Maths is taught within the school in accordance with National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). There is a daily, dedicated mathematics lesson in every class, based on identified learning objectives, to ensure high expectations and progression throughout the school. We use the White Rose scheme of work to support and challenge our pupils. For more detailed information on each year group please see the document attached below.
Differentiated activities, intervention groups and positive support enable all children to meet their individual needs. Provision maps are offered to particular pupils who are identified as needing support or extension in maths.
